Styal Lodge - a Florists Dream

18 April 2016

Styal Lodge in Cheshire is one of our favourite venues to work with, not just because of Sarah, Rich, Georgie, Poppy and Franny, the fantastic co-ordinator team, but because the space presents a rare blank canvas on which to create our bride and groom’s dream wedding.

Open plan with tons of natural light, the wooden walls provide a neutral backdrop but warm atmosphere.  The rooms can be set up just as you like and presents us, the florist with numerous possibilities for adorning with flowers and accessories.  Classic whites and greens work well for a fresh and classic look, but deeper shades of reds and burgundies are equally effective against the wood.

With space for striking, floor-standing candelabras or spectacular flower domes, fresh white linen to complement beautiful table centres and soft, evening lighting to accompany glistening candles and jars of pretty flowers, Styal Lodge really is a florist’s dream.

We love decorating the imposing window behind the ceremony area for weddings. We quite often hang flowers or even vases from it. Recently we fashioned a branch framework and used fragrant stocks, wax flower, matracaria and lots of other garden style roses in the design.

The high ceilings also present wonderful creative opportunities for things like string lights, lanterns or magnificent circular floral designs. Below are some of our favourite photographs of weddings we have dressed at Styal Lodge, in amongst some we took at a recent shoot.

We have some great things planned there for this year too including a pretty woodland theme, a vibrant mix of soft garden flowers and a classic white and green wedding with lots of candles.  Styal Lodges versatility and gorgeous setting, combined with the team’s flexibility and attentiveness, really make this a stunning choice.
