A Christmas Showcase
We were delighted to be invited along recently to help transform The Didsbury House Hotel into a warm and festive wonderland to welcome the Manchester PA Network.
Greeted with mulled wine, tempted with gorgeous edible goodies from Selfridges and then dabbling in a mini floral workshop with us, the PA’s, EA’s and VA’s of Manchester were treated to a sumptuous taste of Christmas come early.
We took position in the hotel’s den, a unique and characterful space cladded with wood panelling and mirrors which looked very fitting dressed with twinkling lights, lush greenery and festive berries. On show, we demonstrated how a few simple twigs of evergreen and berries could transform Christmas wrapping and inspired them with simple DIY decorations. But for the main event, we offered each willing participant a set of four mini milk bottles set in a pretty crate and then set them to work with a pair of scissors and their imagination!
The workspace was littered with seasonal foliage including traditional pine and fern, eucalyptus parvifolia and scented rosemary. They could then include rich red tones from elegant Naomi roses, full-headed Freedom roses, dainty, mini rannunculus, rose hips and hypericum berries.
The results were simple but effective and everyone was suitably impressed with their creations. This is definitely something you can re-create at home. The hardiness of evergreen foliage and the instant hit of Christmas that even just a simple red bloom delivers make them fool-proof!
We loved entertained the ladies and gents from the network and we hope we created something a little bit different to their usual networking. It was also good to host a mini-workshop in advance of the real thing kicking off in a few weeks!
