The Flower Lounge Crowned Britain’s Best Florist Shop
The most unbelievable, incredible thing has happened. The Flower Lounge has been crowned Britain’s Florist Shop of the Year. Yay!!!
We are well and truly over the moon. The award was given by the British Florist Association (BFA), they are the only official trade association we florists have, they represent florists across the country seeking to recognise and reward excellence, and their good opinion is a truly coveted thing.
The whole team travelled to Birmingham for FleurEx, the BFA’s floristry trade show, where we were presented with our award in front of our floristry peers.
There’s another reason why this award in particular is super special, and that is, although the BFA shortlisted The Flower Lounge, it was the public that voted for us to win. The shortlist was really competitive with florists I admire, so I knew it was a particularly tough category – and one we all wanted to win! Having the award decided by a public vote was nerve-wracking as it was all down to our customers. Therefore, actually winning, was made all the more special because our customers took the time to vote and support us. So, thank you, thank you, thank you!
As anyone who has visited the shop will know, although we’ve been up and running for the last nine years, we recently completed a total refurbishment and re-design of our Didsbury based shop (thank you to the uber-talented Siân and Martin at Moregeous for helping The Flower Lounge become a lot more gorgeous!). The amount of planning, perspiration and hard work that went into the re-design has been 100% worth it. The new-look shop has elevated our brand and dramatically improved our customer experience, and without it we wouldn’t have won this prestigious award.
We were also shortlisted for another award…Florist Website of the Year. Although we didn’t win this award, we came second and I am hugely proud that we were nominated in what was a very competitive category. My brilliantly talented web designers, We Are Life, have worked so hard, particularly this year, to expand and improve my website, especially the online store. And I know our customers are impressed too, as this year has seen more visitors to The Flower Lounge website than ever before.
I couldn’t end this blog without one, final, thank you. I didn’t win this award on my own, I owe so much to the dedication, passion and artistry of my team. So, thank you Steve, Mark, Emily and Grace, The Flower Lounge couldn’t have done it without you.
