Autumnal hues for a Didsbury House Hotel wedding package

Lots of people know us for our award-winning, bespoke wedding floral service, especially after we bagged Wedding Florist of the Year at the Wedding Industry Awards. But, last year, we added another string to our bow, launching our exclusive Didsbury House Hotel wedding packages.

We LOVE working with Didsbury House Hotel and Eleven Didsbury Park, both part of the Eclectic Hotel Collection, and just a stone’s throw from our shop. They somehow manage to blend an intimate setting with a very grand, almost Gatsby-esque, house party vibe.

With our extensive knowledge of this stunning venue, we created three specially designed collections, each at different price points - perfect for the busy bride and groom who know what they want!  These packages are bespoke to Didsbury House Hotel and are all about delivering fresh, seasonal flowers, in our signature style, with the minimum amount of fuss.

So, it seemed totally fitting to share our very first Didsbury House Hotel wedding to snap up one of our exclusive wedding packages.

Lucy, and her now hubby, Shaun were planning an intimate wedding, with around 30 people, followed by a larger party at a venue close by. They wanted wedding flowers that enhanced the elegance of the venue, that were individual to their wedding and reflected both of their personalities.

Each Didsbury House Hotel wedding package comes with a one to one consultation.,

When we first chatted over the phone about the flowers they liked, the colour palette and the design, Lucy was sure she wanted something simple, white and classic. However, when we met in person and started looking through some photographs, we soon started to focus on bolder colours and designs, and Shaun was really drawn to the texture of dried flowers and grasses. Before we knew it, we’d agreed on a beautiful autumnal palette of burnt orange, red and pink. An absolutely stunning contrast to the famous ‘Blue Room’ at the Didsbury House Hotel, and completely in season for an October wedding.

The bouquet featured velvety, burnt orange coffee break roses, pretty pearlized hypericum berries, textured grasses including fountain grass, astilbe and skimmia,  as well as beautifully shaped, dried, scabious that added interest and a neutral tone to complement the bold colours we’d used. The bouquet was perfectly proportioned and tied with ivory to complement Lucy’s beautiful, bohemian embroidered Stevie May dress and bold, blue Manolo Blahnik Hangisi shoes.

The button holes continued the theme of Lucy’s bouquet but matched Shaun’s brief of being masculine, understated and neutral enough to complement groomsman wearing their own choice of suits. We even created a mini button hole for Lucy and Shaun’s little boy Mac, complete with scabious, astilbe, skimmia and hypericum berries.

We created a series of delicate vases to line the front of their ceremony table, using the most vibrant blooms, with a single flower to provide a bright contrast to the subtle colour palette in the room. The table looked incredible in front of the gorgeous paper cranes in the window, and perfectly illuminated by the autumnal sun streaming through the windows.

Following the ceremony, the vases were then added to the tables to create a centrepiece. We also added taller vases with some foliage and grasses for added height and texture. While the beautiful, cut glass vases on each of the mantlepieces added an extra floral decoration and tied the theme together.

I’ll leave it to the bride to share her final thoughts on our first Didsbury House Hotel exclusive wedding package.

“I can’t thank Sian and her amazing team enough for helping to make my wedding day the most magical day possible.

“Sian knew exactly what I wanted, before I had to say it. When she hand-delivered my bouquet on the morning of my wedding I was blown away. It was so beautiful and special. Shaun and his groomsmen loved their button holes, which looked as perfect at 2am as they did when she delivered them.

“The room was impeccably styled by Sian’s team, and they even collected all the vases the next day so we could enjoy our first morning as man and wife. I took all my flowers home with me as a gorgeous keepsake of the best day of my life. My advice to any bride out there is to put your trust in The Flower Lounge, they are wedding florists that dreams are made of.”

Thank you to Gareth Lowe, Lucy and Shaun’s wedding photographer, for agreeing to share her beautiful pictures with us.
