Flowers continue to be one of the most popular gifts to show your Mum just how you feel about her on Mother’s Day. And I can understand why. Flowers manage to convey messages we just don’t have the words for, they are there to be admired and enjoyed with no other purpose. They are a beautiful indulgence.

Budding Florist Kit

This thoughtful gift takes one of our Gift Vouchers and packages them up with a beautiful pair of quality Japanese florist scissors and sturdy jute twine (which we use on all Flower Lounge bouquets), so your mum has everything she needs to dabble in a bit of floristry. The gift voucher can either be redeemed in store to stock up on our beautiful seasonal blooms, or, for one of our workshops where we share our trade secrets to help budding florists learn new skills. Mum & Me Workshops

Our ‘Mum and Me’ workshops make the perfect Mother’s Day gift. They are a chance for your Mum to have some relaxing ‘me’ time trying something creative and new, as well as spending quality time with her generous and thoughtful son or daughter.

Our workshops will celebrate the best flowers and foliage of the season with a hand-tied bouquet tutorial. We will start with a short session on the best flowers to use and how to condition them, before demonstrating the techniques of a hand-tied bouquet and the key principles for creating a balanced design. You and your Mum will then have plenty of time to get creative, chat and make your own masterpieces, bursting with seasonal blooms and ready to take home in our complimentary vase.

We are running these workshops at two locations: in our workshop at our award-winning shop in Didsbury and at Eleven Didsbury Park, the latter at which you can organise to round the day off with one of their legendary afternoon teas…

Whether you are looking for a delightful hand-tied bouquet or fresh planted design we have some beautiful arrangements available to view and order online that will make the perfect Mother’s Day gift.

As part of our ongoing commitment to reducing plastic waste, we have two new designs available online that arrive ready-arranged in a beautiful vase – just add water! Combining delicate heather from Irish Green Guys with sweet British tulips or a classic white a green design burtsing with antirrhinum and eucalyptus, we think these will deliver a well-needed reminder to Mum that spring is well and truly on its way. Removing the need for the water bubble during deliveries, these are the first of a wider range of eco-designs available at The Flower Lounge – watch this space!

If you have something more bespoke in mind, perhaps you know your Mum’s favourite flower, or you want her bouquet to include her favourite colours, then please, give us a call in the shop to discuss a bespoke arrangement.

All of our bouquets, bundles and kits are available to buy online or in the shop. Our ‘Pick of the Bunch’ bundles, bouquets and planted designs can be delivered locally on the Friday, Saturday or Sunday of Mother’s Day. Delivery slots are limited and will be given out on a first come, first served basis. So you’ll need to book soon in order to secure your slot.

We’re open every day of the week leading up to Mother’s Day. We’re even opening our doors on Sunday itself, so we’re here and ready to lend a helping hand if you need it.
