So, sit back, relax and feast your eyes Kate’s exquisite taste and style…

Christmas TABLE Styling Tips

Want a Christmas table that walks the walk as well as the talk? Well, here are my top tips for hitting those festive styling notes:

a centrepiece that commands attention

Think voluminous, spectacular garlands to line the table, magnificent centrepieces or festive floral delights in abundance. Deck the table with boughs (and boughs and boughs) of Christmas! Heaps of foliage, decadent displays or stylish vases of foliage - make a real impact.

An Eye for Detail

Details continue be so relevant this year and so they should be! We should make the Christmas vibe as joyous as possible and intricate details are always so personal and a sheer delight. Take the tablescape to a new level by including hired sets of beautiful crockery, glassware and cutlery, maybe with gold or brass tones or embrace the hygge feel and incorporate some white, beige or natural hand-dyed napkins to adorn your festive plate! Incorporate LOTS of candles too. Candlelight has a naturally warming effect and provides the most intimate, cosy atmosphere. Maybe use a collection of muted, tonal colours to emphasise the floral ingredients and allow those more individual, vibrant colours to pop.

Say Cheers!

Include a colourful, decorative, merry cocktail aperitif or a new signature family dish. Perhaps celebrate and embrace this Christmas by creating a new tipple or dish and host a cocktail competition over Zoom with your extended family members! It’ll be an injection of fun and something to mark the festive occasion!

Make Your Wreath Multi-Purpose

One traditional way to mark this time of year, is to hang a stunning, seasonal wreath.  I LOVE the fresh, Nordic aromas these compositions bring to the home and they are such a sustainable way to decorate. What a way to tantalise the senses, through the smells, the opulence, and the memories - if you make it yourself. Simply divine! They make incredible wall or hanging decor or you could even lay the wreath flat on the Christmas table for a unique and festive centrepiece. It would look spectacular as the base of your grand finale Christmas Cake. Or perhaps add it to your Christmas drinks trolley to make it feel extra special and Insta-worthy.

Embrace the personal

If your budget is more limited this year than previous years, there's lots of personal and home-made touches you can add. Perhaps make your own name places or menus or if you're artistic a bespoke Christmas illustration as a keepsake. You could even tackle homemade crackers for an individual touch. Or how about making investment pieces work harder, lifting beautiful ceramic baubles off the tree and using at the Christmas table as favours? Directing your pennies towards super talented local, independent, artisan businesses rather than larger retailers will not only support your community, but also ensure the little touches adorning your table are creative and unique.

Sending the biggest wish of happiness and health, from mine to yours this festive season.

All my love, Kate
