Vintage Vibes and Summer Blooms at this Elegant Townhouse Wedding

You’re going to adore the gorgeous bridal blooms at Stephanie and Jake’s colourful wedding celebration.

This happy couple tied the knot in the summer of 2021 at the stunning Eleven Didsbury Park. This luxury Victorian townhouse is simply brimming with tons of vintage charm and character. It’s no secret I simply adore this venue with its rich interiors and idyllic walled gardens, so I was absolutely thrilled to be involved with the exciting floral style Stephanie had planned for her wedding.

Like many brides, Stephanie had a clear vision for her wedding day. She had scoured the charity shops for a fantastic assortment of Delft vases. These beautiful blue-and-white porcelain pieces provided a vintage, old world inspired elegance that fitted the venue style perfectly. Using the colours of this beautiful pottery as inspiration, Stephanie wanted to create a colour contrast using a rich floral display of blooms in complementary shades of blue, soft peaches and a touch of orange.

Stephanie had a wonderfully relaxed and open approach to her bridal blooms. Instead of being fixed on a choice of flowers for her big day, she gave us the freedom (every florist’s dream!) to suggest, guide and advise her on the best seasonal flowers to achieve her desired look.

Working within the colours and style Stephanie had imagined, we picked garden roses with their wonderfully ruffled petals and scent, billowy hydrangeas, small delicate spray roses, long stemmed delphiniums and pretty achillea with their wonderfully flat flowerheads. We chose fragrant eucalyptus, ferns, mimosa foliage and trailing evergreen to add some depth and texture to the arrangements.

Being so familiar with the Eleven Didsbury Park venue meant we could really work the space to the max and create beautiful floral focal points to bring Stephanie’s bridal vision to life. We created an elegant statement doorway design that welcomed guests and a stunning floral framework for the ceremony area. The place was absolutely brimming with Delft vases filled with romantic blooms, arranged in a loose natural and eclectic style on tables and dotted around the venue. From buttonholes to bouquets, we made sure we added dreamy floral touches throughout.

Stephanie had these kind words to say:

“We knew the moment we saw the Flower Lounge on Instagram that we wanted them as our wedding florists and let me tell you they did NOT disappoint!

Sian and her team were a pleasure to work with from start to finish. Nothing felt too much trouble, nor did any request we made feel out of reach.

The vision I had in mind really did come to life just as I imagined and I can’t thank Sian enough for that, you truly exceeded my expectations, I really felt you listened and just ‘got me’ without even knowing me!

The teams love and passion did not go unnoticed with our family, friends and other suppliers too. The impact of the flower displays really were dramatic and everything I had hoped for and SO much more!... and the bridal bouquet, oh wow, my beautiful, gorgeous, dream bouquet was just so perfect! So perfect that I cried!”

We know we’ve done a good job when the bride cries happy tears! Helping put together the perfect bridal blooms, transforming beautiful venues with flowers and seeing the delight on the faces of the couples we work with is what makes us love our job. It really is an honour to be involved with a couple’s special day.

As you can see from these stunning photos from Emily Robinson this really was a wedding in full bloom. My personal highlight is the confetti photo where Stephanie and Jake’s happiness is captured perfectly!  Stephanie looked stunning in her dress from The White Closet and we couldn’t be happier to see the wedding dreams of this fantastic couple finally come true.

I asked our happily married bride, Stephanie, if she had any top tips for other couples planning their big day.

Stephanie’s advice is:

Give yourself time to enjoy the build-up, and don’t get wrapped up in the planning and organising – leave it to the expert suppliers that’s what they’re there for!

Your dream day will go by so fast, so take 15 minutes out for you and your new partner to sit back, take it all in and raise a toast to each other.”

We had a floral blast creating the beautiful blooms for Stephanie and Jake’s wonderful wedding. We simply love sprinkling some wedding wow to any style of nuptials so if you’re planning your big day or looking for some floral inspiration then get in touch! We’d love to hear from you!
