Flowers fit for the King
As florist to the Eclectic Hotel Group we were honoured to be asked to unleash our creative floral skills for the launch of King Street Townhouse in Manchester city centre. We were rather excited to be allowed behind the scenes before anyone else and be part of putting the finishing touches to this amazing venue, before the VIPs arrived!
It wasn’t hard to be inspired by this Grade II listed, Italian Renaissance building. It is one of those rare buildings that can speak for itself and didn’t need huge statement floral designs.
A clean palette of white, green and silver was chosen throughout the rooms. Dressing the largest of the event spaces on the 6th floor, with its stunning views over the Manchester skyline, we chose flowers and accessories that created a sumptuous, luxe feel. Simple white roses, hydrangeas, and green eucalyptus burst out of silver mottled ribbed vases. Intimate lighting was complemented with an abundance of ivory candles nestled in silver tumblers, hurricane lanterns and metal framed votives of all shapes and sizes. These were extravagantly grouped around the room giving a warm, opulent feel.
For one of the smaller event spaces, we chose a more relaxed, vintage feel with mirrored table centres, antique cut glass vases and a mix of white o’hara roses, lilac, anemones and stocks. Candles once again played a key role in setting a romantic, intimate atmosphere. We used glass votives and tealights to create the perfect setting.
All of the rooms available at King Street Townhouse offer a multitude of stylish opportunities, with free reign for creative designs to suit the individual. We were privileged to be part of the launch and we’re already looking forward to our first wedding at King Street Townhouse in the summer.
“We asked The Flower Lounge to dress our first wedding open evening at King Street Townhouse. We knew from the many, many events we have done with them across our hotel group in the past that Sian could be relied upon to produce beautiful and current pieces which reflect the quality of the setting. The event was a great success with many couples commenting on the lovely and understated arrangements.” Kat Worsley, Wedding Co-ordinator, King Street Townhouse
