Let There be Light - An All-White Wedding

Light plays a crucial role in the ambience of any wedding, but Rachel and Daniel Slade’s big day had it in spades and the impact was just WOW!

Held at Colshaw Hall in the heart of Cheshire in early May, the ceremony took place in the stables, with floor to ceiling windows literally filling the room with sunlight. Using clear perspex stands and a white colour palette, Rachel and Daniel maximised this to create a sensationally luminous space.

In the ceremony, branches of cherry blossom and blousy hydrangea hung overhead, tall orbs of stunning Avalanche roses and hydrangea stood regally upon clear pedestals and a dusting of crisp white rose petals and pretty tea lights lined the aisle.

The white hues continued in the bride’s bouquets with Miejer’s stunning roses taking centre stage complemented with contrasting leaves of senecio and eucalyptus cinerea.  Smaller versions looked exceptional against the silver-grey gowns of the bridesmaids. The groom and ushers wore a single white avalanche rose, while corsages for the ladies were a delicate binding of snowy spray roses.

Moving on to the wedding breakfast, guests were greeted with the same rose orbs used in the ceremony, this time adorned with floating tea lights in pretty glass jars. As a team, we normally leave once the rooms are all set up, but on this occasion, we hung around so we could re-use the ceremony flowers to dress the tables while the guests (and new Mr & Mrs) enjoyed a glass of fizz in the garden. This meant we were very privileged to see the beautiful bride walk down the aisle, a part of the wedding we don’t normally get to see and a very special moment – she looked incredible.

The rest of the room was finished with fairy light nets dressing the windows, tealights in glass jars of varying shape and texture littered across tables and, with the crisp white table linen, white wash walls, sparkling chandeliers and twinkling lights from their Mr & Mrs light-up letters, the room continued to make the event feel fresh, pure and unbelievably striking.
