Stylish Florals and Breathtaking Blooms at this Super Chic Barn Wedding

Some weddings you know are going to be stunning from the get-go! When Natalie, owner of the delectable stationary company Jellypress asked us to work on her wedding flowers, we knew this was going to be an impeccably stylish affair. There’s something extra special about being asked to work on weddings for other wedding professionals. We are HUGE fans of Jellypress so we were absolutely thrilled to bring our floral-know-how to Natalie and Mike’s big day!

Natalie and Mike tied the knot at The Plough Inn, in August 2022. This gorgeous venue is situated in the beautiful rural hamlet of Eaton, complete with stunning 15th Century oak barn, a spectacular orangery and impressive gastro pub.

Natalie, being in the wedding industry herself, has an expert eye for adding in extra details and design elements to achieve the look she wanted. Using The Plough Inn as a blank canvas, Natalie and Mike brought to life a timeless, elegant, air for the wedding of their dreams. From her phenomenal mood board of ideas to her own exquisite wedding stationery and signage, everything was planned with meticulous attention to detail to create a wedding that was full of texture, style and passion for design.

Natalie chose a warm, neutral colour pallet for her wedding flowers, incorporating olive leaves (as a nod to their Italian honeymoon) fragrant, fresh eucalyptus and a selection of British home-grown flowers representing the couples love of the countryside.

Her bouquet was brimming with antique peach and cream-coloured roses, sweet smelling jasmine, delicate iridescent lunaria and sprays of dainty gypsophila that encapsulated the couples love of simple, elegant style. We chose a variety of different flowers with interesting stems to create a beautiful ‘full’ shape and included lots of textured foliage in her blooms. Keeping a consistent floral look, Natalie’s bridesmaid’s bouquet was a smaller version of her bridal flowers, and the wedding party all wore matching buttonholes using petite English roses, sprigs of eucalyptus and gypsophila tied with silk ribbon.

As The Plough Inn is a gastro pub open to the public, Natalie wanted to ensure that guests could easily find their way to the wedding area within the venue, so they commissioned a beautiful bespoke sign, which we adorned with flowers that matched the bridal bouquet.

For an additional floral flourish, Natalie and Mike asked us to create a floral ceremony backdrop that would create a stylish statement piece for their nuptials. Linking into the couples soft-hued colour scheme that incorporated a hint of metallic, we used two stunning gold columns that we filled with florals in simple shades of white, peach and cream and an abundance of soft green foliage. These luxurious columns created a floral focal point that the couple then moved, post ceremony, to the dance floor to create a beautiful framework for their wedding cake.

There’s nothing we love more than when we get to team up with other style loving suppliers, so we were thrilled to have the pleasure of working with the fabulous event stylists Florence & Vera. We enjoyed adding the floral finishing touches to their stunning table designs. With a stylish combo of crisp white linen tablecloths and naturally dyed runners, the tables were then accentuated with simple brass candlesticks and muted toned candles. We added to the beautiful aesthetic with mini pops of florals, carefully arranged in the delicate crockery bowls and vases that adorned the centre of the tables.

Using Natalie’s wedding bouquet as inspiration, we also used an abundance of blooms and foliage to create an English garden feel to the setting. With menu cards printed on wildflower seeded paper that guests could plant and enjoy as a keepsake, and with the barns original oak beans draped in lush green foliage and fairy lights, the venue was an utter slice of style heaven!!

Leaving no area untouched by their unique style, Natalie created the most charming table plan, which she suspended on a white frame using the same hand dyed silk ribbon and beautiful calligraphy that had been used in their wedding invitations. To compliment this eye-catching design, Natalie opted for a unique floral display that, instead of framing at the top, started at the floor, giving the spectacular illusion of the florals growing up from the ground.

Natalie had these kind words to say about us:

“The florals created by The Flower Lounge were just incredible and totally blew me away. They were everything I imagined and more. I know I am biased, but my bouquet was the most beautiful bouquet I could have ever imagined. I couldn’t stop looking at it. It was pure perfection, so delicate and pretty. I have actually dried my bouquet and framed it as a gorgeous reminder and keepsake of how beautiful our day was.”

The beautiful simplicity of their signature style combined with the fresh fragrant florals resulted in a blooming beautiful day! Many thanks to Jenny Appleton Photo + Film for sharing these amazing photos! From the stunning venue to all the ‘extra’ little touches of detail, Natalie and Mike’s wedding was crisp, classic and oh so chic.
