Real Life Spring Wedding

We've had the pleasure to work with some amazing brides and grooms over the years and it’s always an honour when they agree to share their photos and experiences with us.

So this month we’re focussing on bringing you inspiration for a spring wedding. We’re proud to showcase the flower arrangements we created for Gavin and Zoya’s nuptials, in the glorious setting of Sandhole Oak Barn, Cheshire.

If you’re looking for low-key countryside luxe, then we hope you’ll love what we designed for their magical wedding day. The brief was to create something simple, relaxed and quintessentially English, inspired by the fairy-tale rural setting of Sandhole Oak Barn.

The theme throughout was based on using soft, meadow inspired flowers - matracaria daisies, gypsophila, craspedia, thlapsi green bell and birch - loosely hand tied with hessian. To complement the vintage feel we used mismatched jam jars filled with matching flowers, all beautifully wrapped with hessian and lace and scattered on tables and window ledges. Mini hand tied bunches of gypsophila and thlapsi green bell adorned the wedding aisle and a single stem of corn decorated the table place settings. It was these simple touches that subtly brought a sense of spring and new beginnings to the wedding day.

As you can see from the photos, Zoya looked stunning in her dress and we provided tiny clusters of gypsophila for her hair (a big trend right now!). This complemented her bouquet and the vintage style head-dress.

And not forgetting the men! The buttonholes matched the wedding bouquet with a simple mix of matracaria daisies, gypsophila and craspedia. The sunny yellow of the craspedia was stunning against the dark blue of Gavin’s suit.

All considered, Gavin and Zoya’s wedding style was both tailored and whimsical; with simple lines, natural colours and pops of colour, all hinting at the beauty of the great outdoors surrounding them.

We’re never happier than when a client is happy! Zoya said: “Sian at The Flower Lounge, beautifully created exactly what we wanted for our wedding day, our flowers were beautiful and complimented by all our guests. The service we received from Sian throughout the weeding process was impeccable, from the initial consultation to the day of our wedding! Thank you!”

We hope this has inspired your plans for a spring wedding – and we’ve got lots more real life weddings in the pipeline.
