Siân Wild
Lovingly known as ‘Boss Lady’ by The Flower Lounge team, Siân’s passion for flowers started as a child and she has been working in the floristry industry for over 20 years; running The Flower Lounge since 2009. Her great loves include turning people’s floral visions into reality and walking with Charlie, her black Labrador, on the beach. Her favourite flower is hydrangea, especially in the autumn, when the colours become even richer!
Siân is always pushing for creative excellence, which has won The Flower Lounge multiple industry awards, including British Florist Association’s Florist Shop of the Year, and enabled her to achieve a place on the expert panel for the Good Florist Guide. More recently, Siân has part of the judging panel for the coveted Wedding Industry Awards.
The Team
Emily
It comes as no surprise that Emily’s favourite flower is a peony…it’s as sunny as her personality! A lover of saccharine sweet Christmas films, dancing like no one is watching, summer flowers and the deliciously scented eucalyptus, it is in fact Emily’s huge array of cheesy jokes that keep our customers entertained.
Steve
With his amazing people skills and invaluable retail skill, Steve primarily delivers floral creations to our customers, he just can’t get enough of the ‘oohs’ and ‘aahs’ when people see them! And don’t let his vintage Adidas trainers deceive you, there is no one else who could install a beautiful, delicate floral staircase installation with more care and attention to detail than Steve. His favourite flower is King Protea.
Rachel
There is a rose for every occasion and for every season, this and their undeniable beauty and scent make them Rachel’s favourite flower. Cool under pressure, her zen-like calm makes her ideally suited to working on our exciting events and installations. So, it comes as no surprise that she also enjoys a spot of relaxing yoga, in addition to a life-long passion for floristry.
Em
Em brings with her a passion and flair for natural design with the abundance of pretty blooms and textured materials making spring her favourite season. A keen cyclist and sewer, Em is both energetic and creative, an ideal combo for this job! Her favourite flower is the rannunculus.
Mark
Our talented freelance florist and flower demonstrator, Mark is the only member of the team to say winter is his favourite season as it gives him a chance to use his favourite flower; the Amaryllis. He likes new challenges, which explains why as well as being a florist he is also a qualified wig-maker!
Our shop
There’s no denying the beauty of flowers and quite frankly, we’re obsessed! Something reflected in the charm of our award-winning boutique shop, located in leafy Didsbury, South Manchester.
Full of bountiful blooms, stunning arrangements and complementary gifts from artisan suppliers, we guarantee a hit of happy on every visit.
But if you can’t drop by then many of these can also be found on the website and our experienced staff are always happy to take a call and share their inspirational ideas. Whether a thoughtful gift, a stunning wedding bouquet, heartfelt sympathy arrangement or well-deserved treat for yourself, you’ll get the same level of dedication, creativity and attention to detail.
The Flower Lounge can deliver all over Manchester, Cheshire and beyond. We will happily arrange wedding and funeral flower consultations outside these hours but by appointment.
