Gorgeous Green Wedding Blooms at this Chic Countryside Tipi Wedding

I’m thrilled to share all the florally gorgeous details of Laura and Marc’s countryside wedding!

I’ve known Laura for years as she runs Woof Club doggy day care (that Charlie goes to), so was over the moon to be able to work with her and Marc on their wedding plans. I knew straight away that this wedding was going to be totally pawesome when the first photo Laura sent as her flower inspiration was for a flower collar for Winston their dog!

Laura and Marc got married in July 2021, after all the restrictions on weddings were lifted. This fab couple chose to tie the knot with a natural countryside theme influenced by their spectacular wedding location. They were married in the gorgeous village of Mellor in a church that held special significance to them – especially Marc. They then had a stunning wedding reception in a beautiful rustic-style tipi from All About Me Marquees & Events on top of the hill, right next to the church.

When it came to wedding blooms, Laura and Marc wanted lots of greenery to accentuate the countryside setting of the church and wedding venue. To get that outdoorsy, fresh, clean feel we opted for wonderful textured foliage and pretty greenery like ferns, leafy eucalyptus, and olive branches. We paired these with crisp white seasonal summer blooms such as English garden style roses, blousy peonies, and sweet-smelling scented stocks. With bridesmaids in stunning sage green gowns this classically simple colour scheme really encapsulated their vision.

Decorating the church was key for the couple as it was such an important venue for them. Marc wanted lots of florals included the ceremony, so we got busy making sure the church was bursting with blooms.  We dressed the pew candle holders and added some floral touches near the altar to add to the dreamy romantic effect of the church. We also made some attention-grabbing flower columns at the church entrance to welcome guests and which we could then move to the tipi entrance after the ceremony! I always recommend for brides to try and make their florals work hard at their wedding. If you can plan to use your decorations for more than one part of the day, then it’s a simple and easy way of keeping your theme consistent and within budget.

Laura and her bridesmaids had beautiful summer flower bouquets of white roses, scented stocks and an abundance of greenery and foliage. Laura loves peonies and I was thrilled to be able to surprise her with them in the bouquets. July is the end of peony season so nabbing these beautiful blooms was a bit of a challenge – but we did it! And they looked exquisite against her The White Closet dress. Adding texture with foliage and using highly scented seasonal flowers gave extra depth to the bouquets and made sure everything looked and smelled divine! With Winston stealing hearts in his matching flower collar, this was one wedding party that no-one could forget!

Laura and Marc’s tipi reception was a florist’s dream come true giving us a beautiful blank canvas to play with. Working alongside Kate at Florence and Vera who helped Laura and Marc style their day, we got busy creating beautiful vases and foliage for the tables, candlesticks, and accentuating the favours and name places Laura and Marc had made by hand. Each napkin even had an olive sprig for the final finishing touch of green!

For some extra floral flair, we dressed the bar area with a gorgeous on-trend foliage hoop and added a bit of floral magic to the boat Marc and his dad had made together!

I adored everything about this wedding. As you can see from these amazing photos by Zuzi and Seb at Stella Photography it was simply stunning! There were so many special moments that stand out from this magical day but one of my favourites is when we were putting the final finishing touches to the flowers at the entrance of the church and the choir started practicing and it sounded amazing. It was a lovely moment of calm on a busy day!

And let’s not forget those pawesome pooches! Marc surprised Laura with a doggy guard of honour thanks to all the dogs from her day care (including our very own Charlie) taking part. These super cute canines lined the street as they left the church. It was adorable!

What a wedding! I asked Laura and Marc for their top tips for any soon-to-be-married couples planning their big day and this is what they had to say…

 Laura’s tip

“The details really do count! We spent lots of time making and creating things that were personal to us for our day and so many people commented and noticed. One thing I would say though, is start early if you are crafting things! We had many late nights the week of our wedding because we had left things last minute!”

Marc’s tip:

“100% go for a tipi! We looked around many venues and, in the end, took advantage of the beautiful countryside near the church we were married at. Yes. It wasn’t cheap, but we customised everything and had amazing facilities for our guests to enjoy.”

If you loved Laura and Marc’s choice of bridal blooms or are looking for some floral inspiration and ideas for your big day, then don’t hesitate to get in touch! We’d love to hear from you!
