The Best Wedding Event EVER!
It’s always so much fun to be part of Love Bridal’s annual Wedding Edit at Styal Lodge’s wedding venue. Unlike many other wedding shows, it’s an exclusive, intimate showcase from some of the region’s top wedding suppliers – and strictly for girl’s only! (although we gave Mark, Steve and Adam a special pass this year!)
Love’s theme was bang on trend, inspired by the 2017 colour of the year, greenery, with a hint of tropical whimsey! The creative process at The Flower Lounge started early, built around a palette of soft green shades and hues of cotton pink, coffee and cream.
We choose to mirror Love’s branding for the event by using giant, glossy, palm leaves to create an entrance to the catwalk. The runway was lined with more foliage, including eucalyptus and grasses sourced from The Irish Green Guys and softness and height provided by silvery, sand-pink ornamental pampas grass. With its graceful fluffy plumes, it created an almost ostrich feather flutter down the runway as the models sashayed passed in their gorgeous gowns.
One of my highlights was the hanging installation, suspended from the centre of the catwalk and providing a focal point for the brides-to-be as they entered the room. Acting like a floral chandelier we used the same greenery and pampas grasses to create a super-soft, stylish and romantic centrepiece.
The model brides carried bouquets each designed to complement their dress, but keeping the overall theme in mind. We used matching foliage, grasses and ferns to create texture, as well as fragrant white o’hara and café o’lait roses from our lovely supplier, Carol’s Garden. I also adored using the vintage macramé from Soiree Stylists as part of the design, giving the bouquets a bohemian vibe, which particularly suited the designs from Savannah Miller’s new bridal collection.
It was delightful to meet and chat to all the brides-to-be, mums of the brides, sisters and friends. We hope you all enjoyed it as much as we did and got lots of inspiration for your own big day!
As ever it was great to work with our wedding friends; Love Bridal, Flossy and Leigh Hair & Makeup, Ann from Eleventh Heaven, Switch Entertainment, Ellie Sax and Sash Sings, Hipswing, The Word is Love, Adam Wing films, Pink Pepper Catering, and Laura from Yolk. We all pulled together to create an unforgettable event.
Fortunately, all the memorable moments were captured by the very talented Jonny Draper Photography and I’m pleased to be able to share some of them in today’s blog. Thanks as ever Jonny!
